Mickey Pruitt, born January 10, 1965, in Bamberg (South Carolina), is an American football linebacker in both the National Football League for Chicago Bears or Dallas Cowboys. He won a Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl XXVII with the Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys claimed him off waivers on August 27, 1991 to increase the linebackers’ depth and assist with special teams. He was injured reserve listed on September 10 with a pulled left hip. However, he was activated on October 11. He was active in 12 contests. In the 12th game against New York Giants, he played strongside linebacker. This allowed him to record a career- high 9 tackles.

On July 20, 1994, he was signed as a free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles. He was released on August 23.

From 1995 to 1996, he was a football graduate assistant for the University of Colorado. From 1997 to 1999, Pruitt joined the University of Hawaii Warriors football team as an assistant football coach. In 1999, he was a part of the Chicago Bears player personnel department. In 2012, Pruitt became the director of the Chicago Bears Youth Football Camps.

He broke his left hand during a fight with Mark Bortz on November 14, 1990. However, he didn’t miss any of the games. After Mike Stonebreaker had passed him on the depth chart, he was tossed.

After the 1988 NFL Draft, Pruitt was signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted agent. Pruitt was rejected by the Chicago Bears because he was too slow to be a defensive back, and not large enough to be a linebacker.

He was named to both the University of Colorado All-Century Football team in 1989 and the Big Eight Conference All-Decade football team in 1990.
