Sio was a Mackay Cutters player in the Queensland Cup 2015 season. On 22 June 2015, Sio signed a 1/2-year contract with Super League team Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. At the end of 2017, he left the club.
Michael was a player for Samoa at the 2014 Pacific International in May 2014. Sio was selected for the Samoan team in the 2014 Four Nations series on 7 October 2014. Sio was called in late to replace him in the 2015 Polynesian Cup match-match.
