StarBuck joined the Smash’s 2012 follow-up promotion Wrestling New Classic. (WNC) Akira and Syuri joined him under the name “Synapse”, where he was fighting with Hajime Obara. StarBuck won his first WNC event on July 16 by defeating Ohara. StarBuck lost to Tajiri on the main event after several wins in trios. StarBuck was also a participant in the WNC Championship tournament but lost to Hajime Ohara in the first round due to interference from his Kabushiki gaisha DQN stablemates Jiro Shioshio, Nagisa Nozaki.
StarBuck returned to WNC on March 31, 2013, when he teamed with Akira and Syuri in a six-person tag team main event during an afternoon show, where they were defeated by Ekaterina Bonnie, Emil Sitoci and Ivan Markov. Later that same day, during an evening show, StarBuck defeated Koji Doi in a singles match. After two months away from Japan, StarBuck returned to WNC on May 24 in a six-person tag team main event, where he, Akira and Syuri defeated WNC Champion Osamu Nishimura, WNC Women’s Champion Lin Byron and Tajiri. StarBuck then went inactive from in-ring action to rehabilitate two herniated discs in his neck. StarBuck made his next return to WNC on February 27, 2014, when he defeated Tajiri to become the fourth WNC Champion. Post-match, Akira announced that the Synapse stable had decided to disband. StarBuck lost the WNC Championship to Belgian wrestler Bernard VanDamme at Fight Club Finland’s Talvisota VIII on March 8.
After WNC went out of business and its male wrestlers moved over to the Wrestle-1 promotion, StarBuck made his return to Japan on October 10, 2014, working at an Akira produced Wrestle-1 event. In the main event of the show, StarBuck defeated Akira and Masakatsu Funaki in a three-way match.
StarBuck was asked by Tajiri to join his new Smash promotion after he had worked for Fight Club Finland. He appeared in a video on May 29, 2010 at Smash.3, to begin an invasion storyline that involved FCF wrestlers. StarBuck became an instant main-eventer at Smash because of this storyline. StarBuck made it clear that he would be visiting Japan to claim his title. StarBuck defeated Hajime Ohara in Smash.5’s debut Smash wrestling match. He won the match by pining him with one hand after a spike piledriver. StarBuck defeated Tajiri later that day on Smash.6 to regain his Finnish Heavyweight Championship. This was Tajiri’s fourth win of the title. After the match, Hajime Omahara took aim at Tajiri and joined StarBuck’s FCF wrestling team. StarBuck won the Finnish Heavyweight Championship against Akira on September 24, at Smash.8, but Tajiri lost it back to him on November 22, at Smash.10. After that, he was attacked and beaten by Michael Kovac, an Austrian debutant who declared his intent to take over Smash. Kovac defeated StarBuck on January 29, 2011 at Smash.12 and used that momentum to win the Finnish Heavyweight Championship from Tajiri later that day on Smash.13. StarBuck continued his winning streak with pinfall wins over Super Crazy, Tajiri, Yoshiaki Yago and Leatherface.

Michael Majalahti, a Canadian-Finnish professional wrestler and singer, was born April 24, 1973. He is better known as “The Canadian Rebel” StarBuck. Majalahti headed up Fight Club Finland (FCF) up until 2017, and parted ways with the company in 2018. In the summer of 2018, Majalahti started his own SLAM! Wrestling Finland company. Majalahti has trained talent all across the Nordic countries and has won several championships across Europe. In 2010, Majalahti became a main eventer in Japanese promotion Smash, leading FCF’s invasion of the promotion and feuding with the promotion’s public face, Tajiri, for the Finnish Heavyweight Championship.
