In 2018, Chee Kam played mainly from the bench as he was a regular player in first grade. He spent some time with the starting team towards the end of the season. After Chris Lawrence’s injury, he played on the left side. He averaged 120m with the ball and had 34 tackles during this time.

On 3 January 2019, Chee Kam along with another man was charged by police for assaulting an Uber driver at Bondi Beach in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The alleged incident happened on Sunday 30 December 2018 at 10:30PM. Chee Kam and the other man allegedly punched the driver multiple times through the driver’s side window.

Chee Kam played 22 games for Wests in the 2019 NRL season as the club finished ninth on the table and missed out on the finals. Wests had the chance to finish as high as seventh on the table but lost their final game of the season against Cronulla at Leichhardt Oval.

After limited opportunities with the Sea Eagles in 2015, Chee Kam signed a 1-year contract to the Wests Tigers on 3 August 2015. The contract was effective from 2016. He played four games for Manly after being told he was not wanted. He stated, “I didn’t believe they would give me those games at the end after I was told that. So I was pretty happy to get those few games.” That helped me build my confidence and gave me some practice playing at the highest level.

After playing in the Melbourne Storm’s lower grades, Chee Kam was recruited to the Canberra Raiders. He was a member of the Raiders’ National Youth Competition team (NYC), from 2010 to 2012. He played in November and December 2010 for the Australian Schoolboys. He signed a three-year contract with Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in May 2012.
