Michael Bentwood is one of the most popular and richest British racing driver who was born on January 10, 1978 in England, United Kingdom. Michael Bentwood, a British driver in auto racing, was born 10 January 1978. He is based in Altrincham. He started racing in Karting and finished the 1994 Formula First Winter Series in tenth place. He finished fifth in 1995’s Formula Vauxhall Junior Winter Series. Between 1997 and 2000, he spent four years in the British Formula 3 Class A Championship. He was the highest-placed British driver in 2000, winning both the Raymond Mays Trophy as well as the BRDC Spencer Charrington Trophy. He was also granted BRDC membership. Johnny Herbert proposed him, and John Cardwell was the second to propose. He was then able to drive in the Euro Formula 3000 Series in 2001, where he placed in the twelfth position with a few top six finishes.

He shared the Ford GT with Philip Walker in select races in 2009 for RPM Motorsport. He shared the Aston Martin DBRS9 car with Barwell Motorsport in 2010. Although they were competitive, they did not win the entire championship. Alain Li also drove in the Merdeka millennium 12 hour race at Sepang F1 circuit, this time in an Aston Martin DBRS9 together with Frank Yu and Alain Li. They finished fifth behind the Petronas BMW team. Michael was the British driver with the highest-placed car.

He raced in 2005 in the British GT Championship as a works driver in a Nissan 350Z Nissan 350Z for RJN Racing. Alister McRae, Anthony Reid and Anthony Reid were his teammates in 2005. The Nissan performed well, especially at Silverstone’s last round where Michael competed against Ben Collins (Porsche) and Tim Mullen (Ferrari). He also participated in the Britcar 24 hour race at Silverstone Circuit that year in a Lotus Elise Sport, but the car was very unstable. He was unable to participate in all rounds of the FIA GT3 Championship due to a knee injury. He was a good performer in the V12 Aston, and in 2007, he won his first GT3 victory with Barwell Motorsport and Tom Alexender. In 2008, he remained with the 22GT Racing team in an Aston Martin DBRS9, where he won the pole against Allan Simonsen at Thruxton. He also shared the car with Adrian Wilmot, Andy Jenkinson, and Tom Alexander. He also worked for Prodrive in the development of the latest Traction Control software to their GT3 customer cars. He drove at Classic Le Mans alongside Tom Alexander in a 1959 DB4 GT.
