The racing career of Tandy slowed after that, until he founded Joe Tandy Racing the middle of 2006. Brother Nick was struggling to get his Ray car that was not upgraded and upgrades, however Joe decided to purchase the same chassis and race Nick for the remainder of the season. The results were immediate and Nick was first to win at Thruxton and then added a victory at the championship final in Castle Combe, as he was runner-up at the top of the table in championship results. Nick started in fine form with a double podium at the season-opening rounds at Oulton Park, and just eighteen days after his brother’s death, took the team’s first win at Rockingham. Meanwhile, in Formula Fords, Josef Newgarden and Liroy Stuart were signed to campaign the cars, with Newgarden winning the third round of the championship, again at Oulton Park. The team will continue running, in spite of Tandy’s death.
After a break of the year 2000 Tandy started racing circuits when he joined the Mini Seven Challenge in 2001. He raced for four seasons in the championship getting ten podiums, which included three victories, the last occurring in 2004. He also took home the Walter Hayes Memorial Trophy towards the close in the year. He also joined TVR’s Tuscan Challenge. TVR Tuscan Challenge by the close of 2004.

Tandy began his racing career in a unique way using small oval Ministox equipment in 1994. At the close in 1998 Tandy was a winner of 45 races, and 60 podium positions as he was simultaneously British as well as World Ministox champion, as in addition to being triple East Anglian Ministox champion. He continued at this level of motorsports in 1999, claiming another 28 races, becoming British champion for the 2nd time.

The Tandys then expanded the team to three cars in 2007, with Nick, Freddie Hunt (son of 1976 Formula One world champion James Hunt) and Daniel Murray driving the Ray machines. Nick won six races en route to third in the championship, twelve points behind runner-up James Nash. After their Formula Ford Festival win was taken away the year before, Nick won the race in 2007, after Callum MacLeod was given a two-second time penalty for braking severely while leading under the safety car.
