Between 2002 and 2004, Morris was Seattle Seahawks’ primary kickoff returner. Although he was consistent, his performance was not exceptional and he was replaced by Josh Scobey in 2005 for kick return duties. Although Morris was not able to play alongside Shaun Alexander in 2005’s MVP award, his contributions were appreciated by his teammates. Alexander stated to the Seattle Times that Morris could play for at least ten teams in the NFL, and could have a thousand rushing yards and up to nine touchdowns if given an opportunity.
On February 27, 2009, Morris signed a three-year, $7 million deal with the Detroit Lions.
Alexander was absent for six games during the 2006 season and Morris took over. He ended the season with 604 yards rushing and played in all 16 regular- season games. His best season was 2007, when he had 628 rushing yards, 4 rushing touchdowns, and 1 receiving touchdown. During the regular season, he played in 14 games.

Morris started his college career at Fresno City College back in 1998. After graduating from Fresno City College, Morris went on to Oregon where he was the University of Oregon’s starting running back. He helped the team win the 2002 Fiesta Bowl. He ran for a 49-yard touchdown in the Fiesta Bowl. He landed on top a defender and climbed up to the surface, but he didn’t touch the ground.
The 2005 playoffs saw the Seahawks play the Washington Redskins. Alexander was out with a concussion. Morris took over, helping the Seahawks win.
When the Seahawks signed Julius Jones and released Shaun Alexander prior to the 2008 season, it appeared Morris would be the backup again. While Jones did get more carries on the season (158 to Morris’ 132), Morris arguably contributed more effectively to the Seahawks’ running game. Consequently, Morris replaced Jones as the Seahawks’ feature back during the latter part of the season. In the final 6 weeks of the season, Morris had 93 carries compared to Jones’ 19.
