He unexpectedly returned 23 years later to No.1 on the charts with “Unendlich” in February 2013.
Until 1999, he published nine further albums with Polydor. His LP Zauberland was also released in an English-language version in Canada – there called Wonderland.
From 2004 to 2013, he was married to Sarah Stanek. He is the father of Romy, Bastian and Marie-Louise.
