Matt Poskay is one of the most popular and richest American lacrosse player who was born on January 13, 1984 in Clark, New Jersey, United States. Matt Poskay, born January 13, 1984, is an American professional player in lacrosse with the Boston Cannons (MLL). Poskay was a graduate of Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, New Jersey. He set a national high school record with 58 goals. He played collegiate lacrosse for the University of Virginia where he won both 2003 and 2006 collegiate national titles.

At the age of 29, he was inducted into New Jersey Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Recently, Poskay has taken over the Head Coaching position at Montclair State University in the fall of 2018. Prior to Montclair, Poskay was the Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach at Wagner College since 2011, prior to which he served as an assistant coach at Arthur L. Johnson High School and for two years as an assistant coach at Drew University.

The Boston Cannons selected Poskay in the second round, as the 12th overall pick in the 2006 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft.

He was an All-American twice while at the University of Virginia. He was also part of the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship team in 2003. The 2006 championship was won by the same team with a 17-0 record, making them the 12th unbeaten champion in Division I history.

He scored a record 45 goals in 2010 season. Poskay’s 30 goals were tied for the most MLL goals in the 2011 season. This was the same season that the Cannons won their league championship. Poskay was the Cannons’ leading scorer with 38 goals in 2012.

Poskay scored 468 points during his high school career, a New Jersey state record that stood as of 2015. His 362 goals at Arthur L. Johnson High School set a national high school record, which he first broke during his junior year in 2001. He held the national career record for goals scored during his high school career for nearly a decade (a record since surpassed and held as of 2015 by Zed Williams, with 444 career goals), and ranked tied for fifth nationally in career goals as of 2015.
