In his first professional season in 2011 Campanale joined the ECHL with the Bakersfield Condors. After just eight games, the player was traded to another ECHL rivals with the Elmira Jackals, where he continued to play for the remainder time. Despite re-signing with the Royals for a second season on August 20, 2014, Campanalae opted to leave for Europe in signing a one-year deal with Italian Serie A club, Hockey Milano Rossoblu.

As a child Campanale participated during the 2002 and 2001 Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournaments along with his team, the Philadelphia Flyers minor ice hockey team.
Campanale was a four-year player in playing collegiate hockey for the New Hampshire Wildcats men’s ice hockey team prior to signing an amateur tryout contract for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League following the 2010-11 NCAA season. After playing two games for the Sound Tigers, Campanale was surprised to be accepted to an amateur try-out agreement in the form of Bridgeports’ NHL affiliate, the New York Islanders, after their defense was afflicted with injuries.
On August 8, 2013, Campanale moved to his fourth ECHL club, signing a one-year deal with reigning champions the Reading Royals.
