He participated in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, Atlanta Thrashers and New York Islanders. He currently serves in the role of a player development coach in the New York Islanders organization.

In July of 2006 as a free agent Reasoner signed a two-year deal to join Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton Oilers. After the expiration of his contract on July 17, 2008.
