Franko got her first caps in Canada on the eve of 2005 when she was 29. She scored her debut goal on her second appearance, in a match against Germany in a loss of 4-3. In the 2007 Pan American Games, she played a key role in helping the team win the bronze medal at the soccer competition. Later in the year, she took part at her very first big FIFA affiliated event with the Canada team at that of the 2007 World Cup, where she played in all three group stage matchesand scored one goal, but the team was eliminated. She also played with the team in the 2007 Summer Olympics.
In her club career, Franko has won two W-League titles with the Vancouver Whitecaps, in 2004 and 2006. After one year for Los Angeles Sol in the Women’s Professional Soccer League turned on April 1, 2010 back to her former club Vancouver Whitecaps.
She relocated into Squamish, British Columbia, the home of her husband John in 2003.
