Alvise Maria Casellati was born in Padua to Maria Elisabetta Alberti (both attorneys). His family has always been a part of music’s tradition. His great- grandfather received an Honorary Diploma of Composition from the prestigious Accademia filarmonica of Bologna based upon Rossini’s recommendation. Alvise later began studying violin at age nine and was admitted to Padua Conservatory of Music where he was awarded a scholarship for every year of his stay. His family values still place greater importance on traditional school than any other type of education. He is well versed in the rules and he adheres to them, but he doesn’t lose his true passion, music. He attends the Conservatory of Music and goes to both classical highschool (gymnasium), and Law School with great dedication. He was awarded the Juris Doctor degree in 1998 and graduated as Maestro Violin.

He decides to relocate to New York in 2000 to focus on his thesis for his law degree. In 2001, he earned a master’s degree at Columbia University (LL.M. Columbia Law School, publishing a thesis about copyright on the Columbia VLA Journal of Law & the Arts. Later, the article is translated into Italian and published in “Diritto d’Autore” (2003). He is admitted to the Bars of New York in 2003.

In 2003 he becomes Secretary General of the Foundation for Italian Art and Culture in New York and in 2006 Managing Director.
