In 2000 , after finishing secondary school Markus Zimmermann began studying the fine arts at Kunstakademie Munster, Germany, in the class of sculptors taught by Timm Ulrichs. For the winter semester of 2002 Markus Zimmermann switched his studies to Braunschweig University of Art to Bogomir Ecker. He graduated from the university in 2006 and graduated with the award of a diploma, and became a Masterstudent next year. In the course of his research, excursions in New Zealand, France and Ireland were conducted. He is a resident and worker within Berlin in Germany as well as Hannover.
