Mark Visentin (born August 7 in 1993) was a former Canadian professional ice hockey goalie. He was picked as the 27th pick in the initial round with the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Visentin played for Canada in The 2011 World Junior Championships, starting with four games and also at the 2012 World Junior Championships, starting the first game for Canada against Finland.
At the tail end of the 2013–14 season, Visentin was recalled from Phoenix’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Portland Pirates, and on April 12, 2014, he made his NHL debut in net with the Coyotes in a 3–2 defeat to the San Jose Sharks.
Following the 2014-15 season, the Coyotes elected not to give Visentin a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. On July 8, 2015, Visentin signed a one-year contract with the Rockford IceHogs, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. In the 2015–16 season, Visentin appeared in only 13 games with 4 wins, before his season was cut short due another ankle injury which required season ending surgery.
Visentin’s initial experience working with Hockey Canada resulted in a gold medal for Team Ontario at the 2009 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. In the summer of 2010, Visentin spent time in the summer time at the summer camp of Team Canada and Hockey Canada’s goalie camp. Visentin was included on Canada’s squad to play in the 2010 World Junior Championships. Olivier Roy was Canada’s starting goalie throughout the tournament, however Visentin was his replacement following Canada’s defeat to Sweden. Visentin played in Canada’s wins over Switzerland at the quarterfinals as well as against USA in the semi- finals. United States in the semi-finals and was named Canada’s Player Of the Game. His performances earned him a spot as the starting goalie for Canada in the gold-medal game against Russia. In the final, Visentin was a victim of 5 goals during the 3rd quarter in the third quarter as Russia recovered from a deficit to take the game 5-3. Following the match, Visentin struggled to explain the events of the game: “There’s really no words to describe it.”

Visentin has played minor ice hockey for his team, the Halton Hurricanes, winning a provincial PeeWee AAA championship in 2002-03. Visentin was part of the 2005 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament together with Halton. He was picked to his team, the Niagara IceDogs in the third round, 54th overall from the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Priority Selection.
Visentin played his OHL debut with the IceDogs in the season 2008/09. Visentin played in 23 games and was a winner of five. For the season 2009-10, Visentin saw increased playing time, playing at 55 matches and winning 24 games. Following this season Visentin is ranked as fourth in the top four North American goalies by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau. Visentin was then chosen for the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round, 27th overall from the NHL Entry Draft.
During the Coyotes 2014 training camp, Visentin suffered an ankle injury which ended up leading to season ending surgery. Due to the nature of the surgery, Visentin did not partake in a single game during the 2014-2015 season.
