Mark McLinden is one of the most popular and richest Rugby League Player who was born on July 8, 1979 in Canberra, Australia. Mark McLinden (born 8 July 1979) is an Australian former professional rugby player in the 1990s and 2000s. He played in the National Rugby League (NRL) for an Australian club The Canberra Raiders and in the Super League for English club the London Broncos/Harlequins, who he captained. As a Country New South Wales representative backline player McLinden ended his playing career in 2009, with the participation in a handful of rugby union matches with his club, the Queensland Reds in Super Rugby.
McLinden joined McLinden’s London Broncos in November 2004 and was made captain of the team, following Jim Dymock. In 2005’s Super League X, his debut in the Super League, Mark showed his versatility playing halfback, fullback, or hooker.
2007’s Super League XII saw McLinden return from injury. However, he was replaced as captain by England international Rob Purdham.
McLinden had played much of his career at halfback, and with the arrival of Great Britain international fullback Chris Melling at the Harlequins RL he played several games of 2007’s Super League XII in the halves.
He also was awarded representative honours when he was selected to his Australian Junior Kangaroos squad to take on those of the Junior Kiwis. In 2001, McLinden was chosen to participate at the City vs Country Origin for Country. In his 7 years with Canberra Raiders Canberra Raiders, McLinden made more than 165 appearances and was a part of 5 play-off games.

McLinden was born in Canberra, ACT, and played his first rugby match at West Belconnen Warriors in the Canberra District Junior Rugby League. While at Hawker College, McLinden played for the Australian Schoolboys team in 1996 and 1997.
in 1998 McLinden joined the NRL for his home team, the Canberra Raiders. After an impressive first season Mark received the honour of being named NRL Rookie of the Year and then was awarded the Raiders Player of the year prize.
In 2006’s Super League XI, with his club now operating as the Harlequins RL, Mark was the club’s leading Super League try scorer with 14 tries from 17 appearances. His season was, however, disrupted by a persistent back injury which required an operation in late 2006.
