He was sent to Halesowen Town of the Southern League Premier Division on an a month loan in the month of March 2003. He scored his first goal at Ilkeston Town. The club released him from Bradford City at the end of the 2002-03 season.

In February 2009, Danks joined Conference North side Telford United on a contract until the end of the season. He scored a penalty in the Conference League Cup final against his former club, Forest Green, as Telford won the final 3–0 on penalties.

In June 2010 Danks re-signed for Conference North club Worcester City from Northwich Victoria.

Danks began his journey with Hednesford Town in July 2003 and was able to be awarded Hednesford Town’s FA Trophy with them in 2004. He was signed by Conference National club Forest Green Rovers in August of 2004 in which he didn’t have the best of luck being loaned out for one month at Stafford Rangers in September 2004 as well as in loan with Kettering Town in the Conference North in March 2005. in loan to Bromsgrove Rovers, in the month of September of 2005 and then on loan for one month with Cirencester Town in December 2005.

Danks began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he played for England U15 and U16 before becoming a member of Bradford City for a season in August 2002. While he was restricted to just four substitute appearances, he got his goal as a senior player during the FA Cup match against West Bromwich Albion in which Bradford was defeated 3-1.
