Mario Kempe (born 19 September 1988) is a Swedish professional right winger in ice hockey who is currently on agreement with HC CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Kempe returned to his home country of Sweden after two seasons playing in the QMJHL. He joined Rogle BK of Elitserien in the off-season, scoring eight assists and two goals during the 30 games played. In the end, he was only allowed to play ice in the beginning of the year , he was dealt to Mora IK in the second-highest professional league within Sweden. He signed a contract for two years with Djurgarden on the 16th of June, 2010.
On 28 May 2018, he signed a one-year contract extension with the Coyotes.
On 9 May 2019, Kempe was named to make his senior international debut with Sweden at the 2019 World Championships held in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Kempe ended the season in 6th place in the league of QMJHL players in goal scoring, and 11th in points. He was named “Fastest Skater in the Eastern Division”. Kempe placed 50th of North American prospects on Central Scouting’s final report prior to 2007. NHL Entry Draft. He was picked in the 5th roundand in 122nd place overall, and selected by The Philadelphia Flyers.

Kempe began skating when he was just five years old on an outdoor rink located in the town he grew up in, Kramfors. He was a part of Angermanland two times in the TV-pucken when participating in Modo Hockey’s youth team in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden. In 2005-06, Kempe represented Team Sweden at the 2006 IIHF Under-18 World Championship.
The next the summer of 2006, Kempe was drafted 31st overall in the CHL’s 2006 Import Draft, which was drafted by the St. John’s Fog Devils of the QMJHL. Kempe traveled across North America and cracked the Fog Devils lineup. He was promoted to assistant captain in his debut season.
Following the 2016–17 campaign and after three seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League with HC Vityaz, Kempe left as a free agent and returned to North America in securing a one-year, two-way contract with the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL) on 16 May 2017.
