Maria Gheorghiu is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on August 28, 1963 in Reșița, Caraș-Severin, Romania. She is the only one who sings Ave Maria in Romanian, composed by Franz Schubert. In 1938, Horatiu Bena wrote the text.

Maria Gheorghiu’s first audio cassette, Lacrimi In Flacari (Tears of flames), was released in 1995. She released the 1997 album Canon si Maria Gheorghiu. In 1996, she also released a Christmas album, Pe la luminate (On The Lighted Homes). In 1999, she collaborated with Adrian Ordean and Eugen Mihaescu to produce the album Floarede vartej (“Flower whirlwind”), featuring lyrics by Nichita Stanescu (Nichola Stanescu), Nicolae Labis (Nikolina), Adrian Paunescu, Mihai Eminescu, Miron Manega, Camelia Radulian.

Since 2008, Maria Gheorghiu has held numerous performances with the band Atelier. In most of her appearances on stage, she is accompanied by the pianist Radu Graţianu.

In 2010, Maria Gheorghiu released the album Curcubeu (Rainbow), followed in 2013 by a “Best of” album called De 20 de ani Om bun (20 years of Good Man), which features songs from 1993 and later as well as four new songs.

She sang in a Cenaclul Flacara show in 1984. She toured France and Austria, Denmark, Norway (and Norway) after 1989. She won the first prize at 1993’s National Festival of Folk Music “Om Bun” (Good Man).

Maria Gheorghiu, a Romanian, was born in Resita on 28 August 1963. She began ballet training at the age of three. Her parents and grandparents passed on her artistic talent. Before graduating from the School of Music in her hometown in 1977, she studied violin, piano, and oboe. Then she joined the Miorita Choir Room, where she sang for ten year under the direction of Doru Morariu. Later she joined the Cenacle atheneum in Resita where she read poetry. Maria Cassandra is her daughter.
