Marco Pinotti, born 25 February 1976 in Osio Sotto (Lombardy), is an Italian ex-road racing cyclist who competed professionally between 1999 and 2013. Pinotti, a specialist in individual time trials, was the Italian Time Trial Champion six times (2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2013).
Pinotti finished second in Stage 6 to Spoleto at the 2007 Giro d’Italia and took the pink jersey from the leader. It was held for four stages. He won the final stage of the time trial in 2008 and again in 2012. He helped his teams win the team trial in 2009 and 2011. He was able to take over the pink shirt in 2011 thanks to his performance.
Pinotti joined the BMC Racing Team for 2012 following the disbanding of the HTC–Highroad team. At the end of the year, he released a book, Il Mestiere Del Ciclista Una Vita In Bicicletta (The Cycling Professor).
In October 2013 Pinotti announced that he would retire from racing after competing in the Tour of Beijing and Chrono des Nations, transitioning to a position in the Sports Science division of BMC Racing Team.
He won the Tour of the Basque Country 4th stage and the King of the Mountains classification in 2003. He was injured in the Bici Vasca crash, which caused him to need surgery. Since then, he has fully recovered. His specialty is individual time trials.
