Biagianti was called up to the Italy national football squad on 29 May 2009. He was selected in the squad for the friendly match against Northern Ireland, which took place 6 June 2009. Giuseppe Mascara, his teammate, was also named in the squad. Biagianti was left on the bench during that match. Biagianti was considered for Marcello Lippi’s 2010 FIFA World Cup squad, but Lippi ultimately decided to not include him in the 23-man roster.
On 9 July 2011, Biagianti was assigned captaincy at the club. However, the midfielder missed much of the 2011–12 Serie A season through injury, although his club continued their league surge, by breaking the club’s record points total in the top flight for a fourth consecutive season, finishing 11th. He is currently part of a record-breaking Catania outfit that had picked up 56 points from 38 Serie A matches. This performance saw the club also break its record number of home victories in a single season, its record number of victories overall in a single top flight campaign, as well as its record points total in Serie A for the fifth consecutive season.
Biagianti was officially transferred to F.C. in August 2005. Pro Vasto in the Italian Serie C1. His league appearances totaled 31 and he scored one league goal. However, it wasn’t enough to prevent his club being relegated to the Serie C2. After starting the season as a regular starter, he made 15 appearances in all competitions before transferring to Calcio Catania, Serie A, in January 2006.

Biagianti started his career in 2002 with ACF Fiorentina (former Serie A) during their financial difficulties that saw them relegated to the Serie C2. The club’s youth team was where Biagianti began his career. He was promoted to the first squad for 2003-2004, but was immediately loaned to Serie C2 side Fano Calcio. Biagianti made 30 appearances on the first team in his first season as a professional footballer. He returned to Florence at the beginning of the 2004-2005 season. Fiorentina loaned the youngster again, and he joined A.S.D. Chieti were at the time playing in Serie C1. Biagianti played 26 league games and scored one goal in his only season with Chieti. This was his first professional goal. After the expiration of the second loan agreement, Biagianti returned to Tuscany. He was sold to F.C. Pro Vasto.
Pierto Lo Monaco, Catania’s chief of staff, scouted Biagianti in 2005. Negotiations began in December 2005 and culminated in Biagianti’s January transfer to the Sicilian team. Biagianti only made two league appearances in his Catania half-season, but he became an integral part of the team during his second season. Biagianti was a part of more than 20 matches across all competitions during the 2007-2008 season and was awarded a guaranteed starting spot for the 2008-2009 season under the guidance of Walter Zenga, then-coach. Catania was able to avoid relegation by having Biagianti make 34 Serie A appearances. Biagianti remained a starter in 2009-10 Serie A and continued to play 36 league games, more than any other player on the first team. He scored 3 league goals and helped Catania to a 12th-place finish in Serie A, a club record, and a quarterfinal position in Coppa Italia.
Since joining Calcio Catania he has been one of their most influential players. Because of his superb performances, Biagianti has been linked with moves to Serie A giants A.C. Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina, and A.S. Roma, but despite these rumours Biagianti has reiterated his desire to remain in Sicily. Biagianti, unfortunately missed much of the Serie A 2010-11 campaign due to injury, and made just 13 appearances, his fewest in a season with the Sicilians since his first at the club. The club did however reach a record points total in a Serie A season for a third consecutive season.
