Mao Xinyu is one of the most popular and richest Military Personnel who was born on January 17, 1970 in Xiangtan, Hunan, China. Mao wrote several books, including Grandfather Mao Zedong (Yeye Mao Zedong), which was published by the National Defence University Press on October 2003.
In June 2009, Mao won promotion to the rank of major general in the People’s Liberation Army in a controversial move. According to the Changjiang Daily, Mao is now the youngest general in the PLA. Some critics described his promotion as nepotism. “To have such an unqualified person become a general in China’s military, it’s an insult to the People’s Liberation Army,” said Pu Zhiqiang, a lawyer and human rights activist. By contrast, Bao Goujin, a spokesman for the Academy of Military Sciences, said “his is a natural elevation. Mao’s many achievements earned him the right to be promoted.” Mao’s own view is that “family factors” contributed to his promotion.
In September 2011, Mao took up a teaching position at Guangzhou University, teaching Mao Zedong Thought at Songtian Professional College.
Mao was said to have fallen in love with Hao Mingli, a beautiful waitress. Hao Mingli died in Qincheng Prison in 2003, a prison well-known for its political prisoners. The ceremony took place at 16:00 on December 7, 1997. Mao Xinyu remarried to Liu Bin (Liu Bin ), in 2003. Liu Bin was originally from Zhenjiang in Jiangsu Province, and he had first met her in 2000. Mao Xinyu, Liu Bin, and Mao Tianyi, Mao Dongdong (Mao Dong Dong ), were both born in 2003.
Mao Xinyu graduated in 1992 from Renmin University of China’s History Department. He is a researcher at People’s Liberation Army Academy of Military Sciences where he received his doctorate. He is the son of Mao Anqing and one of Mao Zedong’s twelve grandsons.
In 2008, Mao described his grandfather, Mao Zedong, as a “god” and “perfect man”. However, in 2013 he said that Mao Zedong had been “put on an altar” but “only by transforming them back into real people can they be understood and accepted by the public, who will then want to learn from them.”
