Luke Horace Guttridge, an English professional footballer, was born 27 March 1982. He plays as a middlefielder. He has previously played for Torquay United and Southend United as well as Southend United, Southend United and Leyton Orient. He has played more than 400 games in the Football League.

After Southend’s promotion, Guttridge was demoted to the second-team and he joined Leyton Orient as a loanee until January 2007. In a 3-1 home win over Nottingham Forest, Guttridge scored what would be his only and first goal for the club. Guttridge signed a contract with Leyton Orient on 30 January 2007 for an undisclosed amount until the end 2006-07 season. Guttridge left Southend in May 2007 after he rejected a new contract offer by Leyton Orient.

In July 2010, Guttridge signed a two-year contract with Aldershot Town. He was voted Supporters Player of the Season after an impressive first year with the Shots. Having made 80 appearances for Aldershot in all competitions, scoring 14 goals, Guttridge was released in January 2012 after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

On 27 January 2012, Guttridge rejoined Northampton Town on an 18-month contract until the end of the 2012–13 season. “Luke is a very experienced player and is just the sort of character we need,” said Northampton manager Aidy Boothroyd. Guttridge made 44 league appearances, but was not offered a new contract and left the club in June 2013.

Guttridge was freed from his previous club and joined Championship club Colchester United in July 2007. The club released Guttridge after he played in just 14 league games during 2007-08. This was following their relegation from League One.

Guttridge was born in Barnstaple (Devon) and began his football career as a Torquay United trainee after playing junior football with the Paignton Pilgrims. As a substitute for Alex Watson, Guttridge made his league debut as a late replacement while he was still a trainee. Guttridge received a three- month contract from Torquay Manager Wes Saunders in May 2000. This was despite the fact that Cambridge United had offered him an offer for a one year contract and the opportunity to play Second Division football.

Guttridge signed a three year contract with Southend United for an undisclosed amount plus add-ons in March 2005. After a slow start, Guttridge established himself in the first team and was offered the chance to play central midfielder instead of his traditional role as a wide midfielder after a meeting with Steve Tilson. After a 1-0 win at home over Bristol City, Guttridge played a significant role in Southend’s 2005-06 League One title.

Guttridge impressed during a trial period at Northampton Town, and on 4 August 2008, after two commanding performances in pre-season friendlies, he signed a two-year contract with the club until the summer of 2010. His first goal for the club came during a 4–0 win over Stockport County on 21 March 2009. He was released by the club on 12 May 2010 along with five other players.
