Griffiths co-wrote the song “Gimme Love” together with Rosser and Nicholls. It was released as their lead single on Future Primitive’s fifth studio album in 2011. The Inbetweeners Movie (2011) also featured the song. Griffiths said that the Vines were a tight group and was still a close-knit team in May 2011. We are all great friends and play music together very well. We never found it difficult to keep making music. It was something we did naturally together. The Vines performed at the Homebake music fest in December without Griffiths and Rosser. Rosser joined Wolfmother in March 2012, while Griffiths considered a solo career.

Ryan Griffiths, a musician from Australia, was born 14 February 1978. He was a member the garage rock group, The Vines, from March 2002 to December 2011. Craig Nicholls founded the group and realized while on tour for their debut album, Highly Evolved, (July 2002), they needed another guitarist. Nicholls approached Griffiths, a longtime friend and former schoolmate, to join the group. He was a member The Vines and appeared on four studio albums: Winning Days (March 2004, Vision Valley (April 2006), Melodia, July 2008, and Future Primitive (June 2011.). Griffiths was a guitarist (acoustic rhythm or lead), keyboards and percussion during his tenure. He left with Hamish Rosser in December 2011.
Griffiths was asked by Nicholls to join The Vines in March 2002 to promote their debut album, Highly Evolved. The Vines lineup included Griffiths and Nicholls as well as Patrick Matthews on bass guitar, and Hamish Rosser drums. Griffiths initially played an acoustic instrument, but he eventually switched to rhythm guitar, lead guitar and keyboards. He also provided backing vocals. He was a member The Vines and appeared on the studio albums Winning Days (March 2004, Vision Valley (April 2006), Melodia, July 2008, Future Primitive (June 2011, and Future Primitive) Griffiths prefers to play on stage with instruments at lower levels.
