Luke Goodwin started his career with the Canberra Raiders, but he did not play in any of the first grades. He joined the Penrith Panthers in 1992, where he played 10 games of first grade. In 1993, he played 14 first-grade games and was then dropped to reserve for the remainder of 1993 season. He returned to Australia in 1999 and joined the Western Suburbs Magpies, where he played five first-grade games. He was a part of 1 cap of International Rugby League.
