Liu Yu is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on May 12, 1985 in Chengdu, China. Liu Yu (Chinese Liu Yu / Pinyin Liu Yu) is a Chinese footballer who plays as a Defender for Chengdu Better City in the China League Two.

Liu Yu would be named-up to China’s national team when Gao Hongbo, the Chinese Head coach, included him in a friendly against Honduras on March 29, 2011. This would help China win 3-0.

He scored his first goal against Anhui Jiufang F.C. Chengdu won the league game 4-0 on September 11, 2010. Liu led the club to second place in the league, and was promoted immediately back into the Chinese Super League.

Liu Yu began his professional football career with Sichuan Guancheng, a top- tier club. He made his league debut against Beijing Guoan March 16, 2004, in a 1-1 draw. He quickly became Sichuan’s preferred left-back, and he would play in 16 league games during the season. He would be a prominent player in the team the following season, but he was left without a club when Sichuan Guancheng disbanded.

Liu Yu, without a club, would make his move to Dalian Shide F.C., the reigning league champions. He would then make his league debut against Liaoning F.C. He won the match 2-0 on March 18, 2006. He would again quickly become a team favorite left-back, and he made twenty league appearances during his rookie season. Zhai Yanpeng was back in Dalian’s left-back position and Liu Yu was permitted to leave at the end of the following season. Liu Yu joined Henan Construction, a Chinese Super League team. He was a regular during the season but he left to join Chengdu Blades in the 2009 Chinese Super League season.

In Jun 2011, Liu Yu signed a two and half years contract with Chinese Super League team Jiangsu Sainty with a transfer fee of ￥500,000 (about $77,000 according to then exchange rate). In January 2012, Liu transferred to Super League newcomer Dalian Aerbin with a fee of ￥ 3 million. Liu transferred to another China League One club Chongqing Lifan in January 2014.
