Lewis Brown is one of the most popular and richest Rugby League Player who was born on October 3, 1986 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Lewis Brown, born 3 October 1986, is a former New Zealand professional rugby league footballer. He was also known as “Browny”, and “Sharky”. He played for the Penrith Panthers, Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League. Although he was primarily a second-row player, he could also play as a centre or hooker.

Lewis Brown made his international debut in the 2011 ANZAC test against Australia for the New Zealand rugby league team. After Greg Eastwood was injured, he was named on the extended bench and made his international debut. In the 36th minute, he also helped to set up Matt Duffie, the debutant winger for the Kiwis. He made a huge impact on the field within minutes of his arrival, scoring an impressive try thanks to a Greg Inglis knock-on.

In the 2014 NRL season, Brown played 22 games including Penrith’s preliminary final defeat by Canterbury-Bankstown at ANZ Stadium.

On 20 June 2015, Brown signed a three-year contract with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles starting in 2016. Brown was released by Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at the end of the 2018 NRL season which saw the club finish second last after a horror year on and off the field. On 16 January 2019, Brown announced his retirement from rugby league.

Brown was selected in the New Zealand rugby league team squad for 2010 Four Nations. He also played for the New Zealand Maori against England during the build-up to the tournament.

Brown, who is Maori Descent, started his rugby league career in Christchurch with the Riccarton Knights. He also attended Papanui High School. He was a junior representative for Canterbury, and a New Zealand under-16 representative. In 2005, he made his debut for the Canterbury Bulls at the Bartercard Cup.

The Warriors announced in 2008 that Brown had been signed to the Warriors’ 2009 season on a one year deal with an option for a second year. Brown joined the Warriors in October 2008. However, he was injured on his foot and had to miss pre-season. On 3 May 2009, he made his National Rugby League debut with the Warriors against the St George Illawarra Dragons. He signed an extended contract in 2010 that kept him at Warriors until 2012.

In the 2011 NRL season, Brown played 22 games including the 2011 NRL Grand Final which the New Zealand Warriors lost 24-10 against Manly-Warringah at ANZ Stadium. On the 28 March 2012, Brown signed a three-year contract with the Penrith Panthers, commencing in the 2013 NRL season.
