She was trained under John Dennis and Maryhelen Mayfield. She continued her studies in ballet through the School of Greensboro Ballet while studying and eventually finishing Greensboro Day School. She was contemplating pursuing ballet professionally but, at 5’9 the height was not considered tall enough for most companies. Medoff received the full Trinity Scholarship to attend Duke University in the fall of her junior year, where she took classes in pre-medicine and dance, as well as volunteered for students who run the Emergency Medical Services group. After completing a course on Broadway productions with director Emanuel Azenberg, Medoff changed her major to English in the hope to become a Broadway producer. Medoff was a stage assistant for Broadway Shows for Azenberg and his production company. She took a semester of study at New York City, through Duke’s Leadership Philanthropy & the Arts program, where she met with non-profit executive and directors of various New York arts organizations. Medoff also spent the summer at London taking classes in theatre in the West End theatre and Shakespeare. Medoff completed her summa cum laude from Duke in the year 2000. She then earned her Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 2007.

Medoff began her work for Lincoln Center. Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in her final term in Harvard Business School through the HBS Leadership Fellows program, which is a program that connects the graduating MBA students with non-profit and public-sector arts organisations. Following her fellowship, Medoff remained at Lincoln Center and was the senior director of Lincoln’s capital campaign, as well as the director of business strategy and development. In 2012, she was appointed as the director of management for Lincoln Center International, advising international clients on the process of planning the building of, as well as managing the arts facilities. In her role as the managing director, Medoff established advisory councils in China and Latin America on behalf of the Lincoln Center and welcomed foreign high- ranking officials such as the Vice Premier as well as the First Lady of China to the Lincoln Center at New York City. The year 2015 saw Medoff led the creation of the Lincoln Center Global Exchange, which brought together leaders from around the world of diverse industries who are investigating the role that the arts and culture sector plays in tackling the most pressing issues around the globe.
