It was reported that the Los Angeles Dodgers selected Dunn in the 37th round of 2013’s Major League Baseball draft. Dunn didn’t sign with them and went to Boston College to play college baseball for the Boston College Eagles. Dunn signed with the Mets and was assigned to the Brooklyn Cyclones, where he was a part of the entire 2016 season, recording a 1-1 record and an 1.50 ERA in 11 games (eight starts). He played in 2017 for the St. Lucie Mets where his record was 5-6, with an 5.00 ERA in 20 games (16 starts).
The Mariners selected Dunn’s contract and promoted him to the major leagues on September 10, 2019. He made his major league debut on September 12 versus the Cincinnati Reds, allowing two runs over ⁄3 of an inning.
