Ernest Lee “Junior” Spivey Jr. (born on January 28, 1975) was a former second baseman of Major League Baseball. Over the course of his five- year major league professional career Spivey was batting .270 by hitting 48 home runs, and had 201 RBI in 457 games. He was selected for his way onto the National League All-Star team in 2002. He batted and threw right-handed.
Spivey had been signed on to an minor league deal with the New York Mets on March 16 2009. But, he was let go on March 31. In 2009, Spivey played for the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League as well as The Tucson Toros of the Golden Baseball League.
After a time as a player with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball in 2007 in 2007, the Boston Red Sox signed Spivey to a minor league deal and assigned Spivey with the Pawtucket Red Sox, their Triple-A affiliate. Spivey was signed again by the Red Sox in January 2008 and was then released in spring training.

Spivey was a student at Cowley County College, Kansas. He was chosen to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 36th round of the 1996 amateur draft . He participated in major leagues with the Diamondbacks from 2001 until 2003. He was on the Arizona Diamondbacks team when they took home their first World Series in 2001, 4 games to 3 in the series against New York Yankees.
Spivey had been dealt to the Milwaukee Brewers with Craig Counsell, Lyle Overbay, Chad Moeller, Chris Capuano and Jorge de la Rosa for Richie Sexson, Shane Nance and Noochie Varner. Spivey was a player with the Brewers in 2004 and 2005, but his trade 10 June 2005 with the Washington Nationals for pitcher Tomokazu Ohka. Spivey was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals on December 23rd, and spent the entire season playing for the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. He applied for free agency with the Cardinals following the season.
