!Cuentamelo! (tell me about the book) was released in 2014. The book is a compilation of oral histories that feature Latinx, Queer, Immigrants who are over forty-five years old. Each of the stories are illustrated and available in English as well as Spanish. One of the topics of !Cuentamelo!, Adela Vazquez is a transgender immigrant who is of Cuban origin, was the one who influenced Delgado’s curiosity about the stories she had not heard about during a class lecture. Delgado Lopera first published four stories in the magazine SF Weekly titled “Cuentamelo: An Oral History of Queer Latin Immigrants in San Francisco” on June 26th, 2013. They were then awarded two original writing prizes at the Galeria de la Raza and the Queer Cultural Center, which let them continue to research stories that address the issue of transphobia, homophobia xenophobia and that of the AIDS pandemic. !Cuentamelo! is widely credited with bringing the stories of queer identity intersections like and immigration status as well as gender and age the forefront.
Juliana Delgado Lopera became the Executive/ Artistic director role of the Nonprofit organization Radar Productions in 2015. Writer, Michelle Tea, founded Radar Productions back in 2003, its mission is to commission and offer queer performers, from diverse backgrounds, spaces to tell their LGBTQA experience. Radar Productions is based in San Francisco and organizes queer literature performances around the Bay Area that are open freely to the public.
As a Queer, Transgender, People of Color (QTPOC) activist, Delgado Lopera collaborated in “Noche de Ambiente” (night of atmosphere) a multimedia exhibition available to the public from October 2016 to February 2017 at the GLBT History Museum. “Noche de Ambiente” offered a glimpse into the life of LGBT Latinx identities in San Francisco from the 1970s to the 1990s. Delgado Lopera volunteered at the GLBT History Museum, and during their time there, they were asked to participate in the “ambiente” exhibition. The term “ambiente” has been informally used as code for Latinx queerness/ resistance and as an introduction to the Latinx LGBT social scene. Delgado Lopera collaborated in the exhibition to use art as a tool to educate the public about Queer Latinx History in the Bay Area, particularly in San Francisco. They recognize the importance of making room for multi-national and inter- generational Queer Latinx History and the need to extend the term Latinidad in the U.S.
Delgado Lopera attended the University of California Berkeley where they graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in women and Gender Studies in 2011. They continued their studies in San Francisco State University and received a Master’s degree in Fine Arts, in Creative Writing in 2015.

A performer on Sister Spit, a feminist comedy, queer, funny poetry roadshow, Delgado Opera is a touring performer across the United States. Sister Spit emerged during the 1990s with a weekly open-mic poetry slam in retaliation to the wave of sexist poetry that was prevalent throughout that San Francisco area at the time. Sister Spit now tours yearly after a resurgence as “Sister Spit: the next generation” in 2007.
