Jukka Jalonen (born on the 2nd of November 1962 Riihimaki, Finland) is a Finnish professional hockey coach as well as a former player. In 2011 , and in 2019 he was the coach of his Finnish National team take home the gold medal at the IIHF World Championship. He was the head coach for Jokerit during the Kontinental Hockey League during seasons between 2016 and 2018, prior to returning as the coach of for the Finnish nation’s team.

In the season 2016-17, Jalonen returned to the KHL with Jokerit. Jokerit. Jokerit was in the playoffs but lost during the opening round of the Gagarin Cup. In 2017, Jalonen was elected to the Finnish national team’s head coach, replacing Lauri Marjamaki following his departure from the team at the end of 2018’s World Championship. The contract initially covered the seasons of 2018-2019 as well as 2019-2020 but was later extended by three years, to include 2021-2022.

Following his time at HPK, Jalonen started coaching the Finnish national team. First, he was as the assistant coach for Doug Shedden in 2007-08, and later, as head coach from 2008 to 2009 onwards. In 2010, his team was awarded an Olympic silver medal from Vancouver and, in 2011, He led his Finnish National team to win the country’s second all-time World Championship title. In the final match, Finland beat arch rivals Sweden by a score of 6-1. As Jalonen continued to be the coach of Finland’s national team through the end of the 2012-13 season, the national team did not win additional medals during his leadership . In the 2012-13 season, Jalonen joined KHL club SKA St. Petersburg, taking over the role of Milos Riha for the duration of the season. He was later able to lead the team to the conference championships at the Gagarin Cup. He was with SKA in the following season in 2013-14, however the team’s success ended with defeat in the semi-finals of the conference.

For the 2016 World Juniors that were organised in Finland, Jalonen was hired to coach the Finnish U20 team. He successfully coached the Finnish team to World Junior Championship on home ice, beating Russia with a score 4-3 (OT) in the final at Hartwall Arena.
