Joshua Derek Adam Holden (born on January 18 1978) is an ex- Canadian professional hockey player who is currently the Assistant coach for EV Zug of the National League (NL) in Switzerland. He was selected at the beginning of round 1, in the 12th spot from the Vancouver Canucks in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
As of the 31st day of December 2012 Josh Holden was part of the Canadian Ice Hockey Team that took home the Spengler Cup.
On May 15, 2017, Holden agreed to a one-year contract extension to remain within the EV Zug organization and play with their affiliate, the EVZ Academy, in the Swiss League (SL).

Holden is a native of Calgary, Alberta. After four seasons of the Western Hockey League with the Regina Pats, finishing in the top ten leagues in scoring in 1995-96 as well as the 1996/97 season, Holden made his National Hockey League debut with the Canucks during the 1998-99 season playing for 30 times. After playing in 16 games for the Canucks in the subsequent two years, the team drafted as a waiver from the Carolina Hurricanes before the 2001-02 season. Holden was part of eight games for Carolina before re-joining the Canucks organization. He was then traded by Vancouver for Toronto’s Toronto Maple Leafs before the 2002-03 season, in exchange for Jeff Farkas.
In the 2004-2005 NHL lockout in 2004, Holden was sent to the Finnish SM-liiga team to take part in the HPK. As the NHL returned to play in the 2005-06 season, Holden stayed in Europe and joined HC Fribourg-Gotteron of Switzerland’s Nationalliga A.
After retiring at the end of the 2017/18 season he became the assistant coach for EV Zug for the 2018/19 season and resigned as assistant coach again in 2019/20.
