Fogg was a pitcher in the Pirates’ 2002 season, making 33 appearances as a rookie with the Pirates and finished in the top spot with 12 wins with co-teammate Kip Wells. He also placed third in innings pitched for the team. Fogg was ranked 7th in the Rookie of the Year voting.

In 2004, Fogg notched 11 wins, reaching double digit wins for the third consecutive season, and allowed a career low 17 home runs in 32 starts.

2005 saw Fogg demoted to the bullpen for a time as he struggled throughout the season. He pitched in 34 games, 28 of them starts, and finished with a record of 6-11 while having an ERA over 5.

Joshua Smith Fogg (born December 13th in 1976) is a retired American league baseball player who played player for the duration of nine Major League Baseball seasons. Fogg played in the NCAA baseball tournament for at the University of Florida and was chosen into the Chicago White Sox in the third round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft. Fogg was able to make the Major League debut for the White Sox on September 2 2001. He was also a part of his team the Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies and Cincinnati Reds.

Fogg received an athletic scholarship that allowed him to attend an athletic scholarship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he was a player for the coach, Andy Lopez’s Florida Gators baseball team from 1995 until 1998. The year 1996 was the first time he was a part of college summer baseball with the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League. When he was a senior in 1998 Fogg was honored as a first-team consensus All-American and was awarded first-team awards by Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Fogg was admitted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame as the “Gator Great” in 2013.

2003 was a down year as Fogg suffered an abdominal injury. He would only appear in 26 starts and finished with 10 wins. Although he reached double digit wins, his ERA finished at 5.26 while allowing 22 home runs in only 143 innings.

Fogg signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on March 31, 2010, but was released on July 2 after sporting an ERA over 10 in just 3 starts.
