He was named on the bench in the following game for the first time in the EFL Championship as an unused substitute in a 2–0 win against Derby County side on 11 January 2019 and played his first minutes of Championship football the following week when he came on in the 76th minute for Mateusz Klich in Leeds’ 2–1 defeat to Stoke City.
1 February 2018 Stevens became a member of Leeds United on an initial two and a half-year agreement with an additional year for an unspecified fee. In the course of the agreement that brought Stevens to Leeds the 31st of May the 31st of May, Forest Green Rovers announced an opening game against Leeds.
