John Stollmeyer is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on October 25, 1962 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. John Michael Stollmeyer (born October 25 1962, in Pittsburgh) was a former United States soccer player. He played in two seasons of the Major Indoor Soccer League and one in the American Soccer League and the American Professional Soccer League. He also played in 31 caps for the U.S. national team from 1986 until 1990. He was also an integral part of the U.S. team at the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
The year 1985 was the time Stollmeyer got a contract with The Cleveland Force of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He was named the MISL player of the season between 1986 and 1987. Stollmeyer’s second year as a member of the team between 1987 and 1988 was his last , as the team was disbanded at conclusion of the season.
When the Cleveland Force closed in 1988, he moved to the Arizona Condors of the outdoor Western Soccer League. Stollmeyer played with the Condors for one season in 1990. Once again, Stollmeyer was left without a team when the Condors folded at the end of the 1990 season. He was briefly associated with the Washington Stars, but that team also folded in 1990.
Despite the professional disappointments, Stollmeyer still made the U.S. team for the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy. However, in this last major international tournament of his career, Stollmeyer’s team again failed to exit group play, losing to Italy, Czechoslovakia and Austria.
Stollmeyer was born in Pennsylvania He attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Annandale, Virginia. In 1981, he was the National Amateur Soccer Athlete of the Year. In December of 1980, he was chosen to be drafted by Tampa Bay Rowdies. Tampa Bay Rowdies in the first round of the North American Soccer League draft. Instead of joining the Rowdies He decided to go to Indiana University Bloomington from 1982 until 1986. While at Indiana the university, he was part of Indiana’s NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship teams in 1982 and 1983 along with the second-place team of 1984. He was named an alternate All- American in the years 1982 and 1985 , and was third-team All-American in 1984. In 1982, he was the NCAA Defender of the Year. The year 1999 was the time he received an election into the Indiana University Hall of Fame.

In the 1980s, in the early 1980s, U.S. Olympic organization initiated the Olympic Sports Festival as a way of identifying and preparing future Olympians. For soccer, the team divided the most prominent athletes into teams of four: north east, south, and west. Stollmeyer was part of the East Regional Team for the 1982 1984, 1983 and 1985 Olympics Sports Festivals.
When he was in high school Stollmayer was a member of his U.S. team at the 1981 FIFA World Youth Championship in Australia. Stollmayer was also in the U.S. team at the 1983 Pan American Games. While working for the Force, Stollmeyer was a participant in that 1987 Pan American Games U.S. team. In Indianapolis it was the U.S. defeated Trinidad and Tobago with a score of 3-0, while also tying El Salvador 0-0, but defeated Argentina by a score of 0-2. The record of 1-1-1 earned U.S. U.S. 2nd place in their pool, but it was not enough to get beyond group play. The same year, he was part of the U.S. 1987 Summer Universiade soccer team in Zagreb, Croatia.
The following year Stollmeyer played for the U.S. team at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. That team tied Argentina and South Korea, then lost to the Soviet Union. Once again, Stollmeyer’s team failed to exit group play.
