He plays as a player in the lock position as well as a second-row player and prop. He was previously a player with the Wests Tigers, Newcastle Knights and the Canberra Raiders in the NRL and The Limoux Grizzlies in the Elite One Championship and the York City Knights in the RFL Championship .
In the first round of 2013’s NRL campaign, Edwards played the Raiders debut against Penrith Panthers. On the 12th of September Edwards was awarded the Raiders’ Coach’s Award alongside Brett White at the club’s evening of awards at the end of the season.
On 28 September, Edwards signed a 2-year contract with the Wests Tigers starting in 2016, after being released from the final 2 years of his Raiders contract.
Edwards was named in the Tigers squad for the 2017 NRL Auckland Nines. On 6 September 2017, Edwards was one of the nine players that were released by The Wests Tigers at the end of the season following a poor year on the field for the club. He joined Limoux for their 2017-18 season.
In the Round 15 of 2010’s NRL season Edwards played his NRL debut for the Knights against the Parramatta Eels. On the 9th of September, 2010, he was selected as a member of the bench of interchange players on the 2010. New South Wales Cup Team of the Year.

As of 2008 Edwards participated in The Newcastle Knights’ NYC team. He was one year with the Cessnock Goannas before moving on to the Knights’ New South Wales Cup team, the Central Coast Centurions in 2010.
After playing four games in the 2010 season, Edwards was recalled to the team for round 4 in the NRL season. He didn’t have to miss a single game all of 2011. On September 13 Edwards was awarded the Once-A-Knight Old Boys Gladiator Award at the Knights the end of the season awards evening.
On 2 August, it was confirmed by Knights CEO Matthew Gidley, that Edwards would quit the club at the end of the season after knocking back 3 separate offers. On 6 August, he signed a 3-year contract with the Canberra Raiders starting in 2013.
