Joseph Mattacchione (born August 15 1975, in Mississauga) was an Canadian Former soccer star who had an outdoors career for the Toronto Lynx in the USL A-League and also participated in soccer indoors in the National Professional Soccer League.

In the winter of 2002, the player was a part of Cleveland Force, and appeared in 31 games, scoring two goals. The team returned in Toronto on April 28th the 28th of April, 2003. The 2003 season was a time when his participation was restricted because of injuries to his feet, however he nonetheless, he set an A-League record when he was included in the A-League Team of the Week six times over his career. Under the new manager Hubert Busby, Jr. Mattacchione took over from Shawn Faria as the new captain of the club. On April 26, 2006, Mattacchione will continue to be captain and receive the dual responsibility of assistant coach/player as well under Duncan Wilde. In the 2006 season, he led the Lynx to record 10 games of undefeated play at home. He also assisted in helping the Lynx to make it to into the semi-finals of the Open Canada Cup which they lost 2-0 to Ottawa St. Anthony Italia.

Mattacchione is graduated from the Father Michael Goetz Secondary school which is located in Mississauga, Ontario. He was a member of the Dixie Soccer Club at the junior level. He then playing in college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in which he served as the captain of the team from 1995 until 1997. At Alabama He was awarded the First Team Rookie All-Conference in 1994. Rochester Rhinos, but would be eliminated from the playoffs with the score of 2-1 goals scored in the average.

Subsequently, after the 2006 season the Lynx dropped two divisions down into the PDL, thus making Mattacchione a free agent after which seven seasons with the club he was ranked in the top five for all-time games and minutes played for the Lynx. After retiring from soccer, he was appointed the U12 Development Director for the Oakville Soccer Club in 2007, and become a high school careers and gym teacher at his old high school Father Michael Goetz.
