Joacim Eriksson (born on April 9th 1990) is an Swedish professional goalie for ice hockey currently working for Brynas IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Eriksson played for a number of years playing in Swedish junior leagues before making his professional debut in the year 2008. He was then selected with the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, though not signed by the team. In 2013, Eriksson joined the Vancouver Canucks, and joined their minor league affiliate in the American Hockey League. He was a part of only one match with Vancouver Canucks at the end of 2014 before he went back to Sweden for two more years after a stint living in North America. Internationally, Eriksson was a part of Sweden in both senior and under-18 levels, securing an Olympic gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in 2007 and a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships.

From 2010 until 2013 Eriksson was a player for SHL club Skelleftea AIK. He was the winner of his first Swedish championship with Skelleftea AIK in 2013, and made it to the SHL finals in 2011 and 2012.

On June 15, 2013, Eriksson signed a two-year professional contract with the Vancouver Canucks. Eriksson played in his first career NHL regular season game for the Canucks on January 15, 2014 against the Anaheim Ducks, coming in relief of starter Eddie Läck in a 9–1 loss. He mostly saw action for the Canucks’ affiliate, the Utica Comets, in the American Hockey League.

He won bronze at the 2014 World Championships with the Swedish national team, making eight appearances during the tournament.

Inability to secure an adequate amount of playing time in the shadow of Jacob Markstrom after two years of juniors ‘ play and setting league records on Brynas’ J20 SuperElit team, Eriksson moved west to Leksands IF of the second- tier Allsvenskan. This move paid off as Eriksson was a part of 38 games during the 2009-10 season and recorded an average of 2.40 goal-against average as well as an .926 saving percentage. This allowed Leksand to join the Kvalserien in hopes of being promoted to the Elitserien in this season’s 2010-2011 campaign.
