Bartolotta was a graduate of Heritage High School (Littleton, Colorado). He was awarded Colorado All-State selections for basketball during both his junior and senior years. In his senior season, Bartolotta was the captain of Heritage High to the big school Colorado 5A State Championship, with a record of 27-1 and a 43rd spot on the poll of national high schools. He also played in doubles on the varsity tennis team , where the pair finished third in the state championship.
