James Joseph Sorgi Jr. (born December 3 1980) is an ex- American football player. He played in the NCAA football tournament in the University of Wisconsin and was selected with the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Sorgi played as the back-up for Peyton Manning for several years and was awarded an award when the Colts took home Super Bowl XLI against the Chicago Bears. After his release by the Colts after which he joined the New York Giants to compete for the position of backup in place of Eli Manning, but lost his bid, and was let go in the offseason.

Sorgi joined The New York Giants on March 9th 2010. At the time of signing, Sorgi was likely to play in place of the starting quarterback Eli Manning, but in an earlier game in the preseason with team New York Jets, Sorgi ruptured the capsule of his right shoulder. He was put on Injured Reserve for the rest of the season. After the season ended Sorgi was declared an unrestricted free- agent.

In the 2008 season Manning was not allowed to take the field until the last regular-season game. He saw the most of his playing time during the preseason of 2008, since Manning recuperating from knee surgery. At the close of the regular season the player had recorded six touchdowns and one intercept. On the 9th of December 2009, Sorgi was put on injured reserve because of an injured labrum within his shoulder. Sorgi was released from Indianapolis on March 5, 2010.
