Jerry Wayne Hairston Jr. (born May 29th 1976) is an Mexican-American professional baseball player who was an player infielder as well as outfielder. He played 16 seasons with Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers as well as the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played in every position, with the exception of the position of catcher and pitcher in his career in baseball. He is the grandchild of the former major leaguer Sam Hairston, the son of the former major league player Jerry Hairston Sr., and is the brother of Scott Hairston. He was a part of the Yankees to win in the World Series in 2009. World Series, beating the Philadelphia Phillies, giving him his first World Series title.

In two seasons with the Cubs, he hit .251 in 152 games.

Hairston was selected at the eleventh pick of 1997’s Major League Baseball draft by the Baltimore Orioles. His professional debut was in 1997 with the rookie league Bluefield Orioles, where he hit .330 in 59 games. He hit.330 in the 1998 season. experienced rapid progress through the farm system. He started in the A position for the Frederick Keys, where he played in 80 games and scored .302 and was elevated to the A Bowie Baysox, where he hit .326 in 55 games. He was promoted in September up to the Major Leagues.
