Jason Christopher Prior (born 20 December 1988) is an English footballer who is an attacking player with National League South side Dorking Wanderers. Prior to this, he was a player for non-league clubs AFC Newbury, Moneyfields and Margate. His full Football League debut for AFC Wimbledon on the 28th of January, 2012.

In the 2014/15 season, Prior joined forces with previous AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown in signing a two-year contract with Margate. However, his opportunities were for Hartsdown Park to be limited and only played 14 times and spending the majority of the season playing on loan with his the club he played for at the time, Bognor Regis Town.

On March 18, 2013 it was announced that Prior was joining Conference club Dartford on the basis of a one-month loan. Prior made his debut goal with Dartford with a goal in the 2-0 victory against Telford United on 6 April 2013. Prior was part of nine games with Dartford, scoring one goal during the loan period, before his return back to AFC Wimbledon. After his release in “The Dons” on 14 May, Prior re-joined Dartford on an agreement that was permanent on July 15, 2013.

On the 26th of January, 2012 Prior joined League Two club AFC Wimbledon on a two-and-a-half-year contract. Prior made his first football league debut with AFC Wimbledon on 28 January 2012, as a substitute in the second half for George Moncur in a 2-1 loss at home against Aldershot Town. The debut was an unlucky one for Prior however, as the injury to a tendon was in his knee which ruled Prior for two months. After he recovered, Prior made his debut in the league in the league for AFC Wimbledon on 9 April 2012, in a 2-0 loss against Southend United. The following game with Crawley Town on April 14 2012 brought further injuries upon Prior however, since during the opening six minutes of the game, he was on the side of a rash lunge from Hope Akpan which resulted in Prior being taken off the field with a fractured leg. AFC Wimbledon physiotherapist, Mike Rayner confirmed later in the day that an Xray revealed that Prior was injured in both his tibia as well as his fibula, which prevented him from being able to play for nine months. After a long recovery, Prior was finally able to resume league football on the 29th of December 2012, following an 3-0 loss at home against Oxford United. On the 18th of March, 2013, the club revealed that Prior was joining Conference club Dartford on the basis of a one-month loan, to help increase his match fitness. On May 14, 2013 Prior got released on his loan and was subsequently released from AFC Wimbledon.

As a central midfielder, Prior began his career at Premier Division Wessex League club AFC Newbury. AFC Newbury narrowly avoided losing their place in the 2005-06 campaign and then found themselves facing financial problems during the season’s final stretch after they were unable to renew their lease for the Town Ground stadium in Berkshire and, in the process was relegated in Division One of the Wessex League. Prior to that, the club resigned and signed with the rival Wessex League side Moneyfields. In this club, he was elevated to the role of striker, after it became clear that he was born with a ability to score goals. As of the month September 9, Prior made the move into Isthmian League Premier Division club Bognor Regis Town. This was the place where Prior was in the most prolific performance of his career and scored 95 goals in 126 games at the side. The striker was set to be transferred to Conference South side Eastleigh for the sum of $12,000 at the beginning of January. But, prior to the sale could be completed, Prior was given the chance to try out for Premier League side Newcastle United. On the 10th of January, 2012, Prior was a striker in the Newcastle United Reserves’ in an 1-0 win against Wigan Athletic Reserves in the 2011-12 Premier Reserve League. Despite a highly good three-week trial, However, the striker was unable to secure an agreement to sign with “The Magpies” and was later released on the 23rd of January 2012.

During the summer of 2015, he was released from his contract at Margate and returned to Bognor on a permanent basis for the 2015/16 season. Prior scored 40 goals in 52 games all competitions, in a season in which the Rocks reached the FA Trophy semi-final.
