Croom played and attended football in the college in the University of Tennessee from 2012-2016 under the head coach Derek Dooley and Butch Jones. He was injured in his knee which forced him to not participate in the Vols bowl game victory against Iowa. Croom did not play the entire year of 2015 because of a scope that was placed on his knee. He was back in the lineup as a tight-end in the 2016 season. there were 21 receptions, which added 242 yards of receiving in the Volunteers the team’s 9-4 record.

Croom did not get drafted at the time of the 2016 NFL Draft. On May 5, 2017 Croom received a contract with the Buffalo Bills. On August 20th, he was cut. The next day the athlete was placed in injured reserve due to an unknown injury. He was taken off after four days and again cut. On November 1, he was re-admitted to the team’s practice squad. On January 8, 2018 He was re-signed with the squad.
