He plays as a second row player and is also able to fill in at the centre. He played previously with his club the Canberra Raiders and the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles of the National Rugby League.
The following month, Kennedy received the honor of playing second row of The 2016 Intrust Super Premiership NSW Team of the Year.
Kennedy was named in the Manly-Warringah squad for the 2017 NRL Auckland Nines.
