Jamie Hislop is one of the most popular and richest Ice Hockey Player who was born on January 20, 1954 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. James Donald Hislop, a Canadian retired ice hockey forward who was also a current pro scout with the Minnesota Wild, was born January 20, 1954.
After his retirement, he joined the Flames’ front office as an assistant coach. He then left hockey for four more years before becoming the head coach of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles, International Hockey League, for two seasons, beginning in 1989. Hislop worked as a scout again, and spent three more seasons as an assistant coach with the Flames until his retirement in 2004.
The Quebec Nordiques acquired Hislop’s rights in 1979 after the Stingers were dissolved in the WHA/NHL merger. In exchange for Dan Bouchard, he was traded to the Calgary Flames midway through 1980-81 season. It was Hislop’s best year in NHL history with 25 goals and 31 assists, for 56 points. He spent the rest of his career with Calgary Flames before he was forced to retire after suffering an eye injury in a game against New York Islanders.

Hislop studied at the University of New Hampshire with legendary coach Charlie Holt. Hislop was drafted by Montreal Canadiens in round 8 of the 1974 NHL amateur draft. This was his sophomore year as a Wildcat. He led the ECAC with 35 assists. Hislop followed that up with two 66-point seasons. He won conference First All-Star honors in 1975, 1976, and was named to the NCAA First Team All-American team in 1976. He was the Wildcat’s leading scorer with 209 points and scored 77 goals.
Hislop was signed in 1977 by the Cincinnati Stingers, a World Hockey Association team that had spent half a season with the Hampton Gulls. Hislop played three seasons for the Stingers. His best year was 1979 when he scored 30 goals, 40 assists, and 70 points. He also contributed six points to three playoff games.
