Ifeoma Dieke is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on February 25, 1981 in Amherst, Massachusetts, United States. Ifeoma NnennaDieke (born on February 25, 1981) is an American born Scottish football defender who is who is currently playing with Apollon Ladies F.C. from the Cypriot First Division. She has previously played for various Professional clubs across Sweden as well as in the United States. Between 2004 and 2017, she earned an impressive 123 caps in her country’s Scotland women’s national team. Dieke was born in Amherst, Massachusetts, to Nigerian parents. They moved into Cumbernauld in Scotland at the age of three years old. Dieke along with co-sponsor Scot Kim Little were the only players from outside England selected for the Great Britain squad for the 2012 London Olympics.
She was a part of the 2009 season when she signed with in 2009 with the Chicago Red Stars. In the 2009 inaugural Women’s Professional Soccer season, Dieke was on 14 occasions. She was sent off for kicking Kelley O’Hara during the Red Stars losing 2-0 to FC Gold Pride in May 2010. In the following month, she was granted the right to join Boston Breakers on a free transfer. She played 12 of the 13 games for the Breakers in the 2010 season, scoring one score against former club Chicago where she made five pre game appearances.
In 2012 Dieke was selected for a place in the Great Britain team at the 2012 London Olympics. Along with Scotland teammate Kim Little, Dieke was one of only two non-English players in the squad. She played alongside Casey Stoney in central defence, but suffered knee ligament damage in the second group match and had to withdraw from the squad. Medical tests showed that she had ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament, which prevented her from playing in the remainder of Scotland’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 qualifying matches.
After missing almost two years of international football due to the injury, Dieke was recalled to Scotland’s squad for the 2014 Cyprus Women’s Cup. That October she won her 100th cap in Scotland’s 2–0 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification – UEFA play-offs defeat by the Netherlands in Rotterdam.
In October 2008, she made an own-goal during the UEFA Women’s Euro 2009 qualifying play-off game against Russia at Nalchik. The game ended 4-4 and Scotland lost on the away goals rule which was a cause for Dieke’s dismay: “It hit off my shin, and for me that was the one that knocked us out because it was an away goal. I was beating myself up quite a bit for that.”

Dieke began her football journey at the age of eight years old. She was playing at her primary school St. Mary’s. She then became a member of Cumbernauld Cosmos, from where she was transferred towards Cumbernauld Ladies. She was in 1999 when she received the scholarship of Florida International University, playing for the university’s FIU Golden Panthers women’s soccer team. She graduated in 2003 and then joined the Women’s United Soccer Association side Atlanta Beat. She played in all 13 regular season matches scoring one goal. The league dissolved after her first season. Dieke continued to play with the Swedish national team in Sweden (for QBIK in 2007 as well as for Kristianstads DFF in 2008) as well as Cyprus.
Dieke was able to represent either Scotland as well as in the United States or Nigeria at the international level. Dieke first made her Scotland debut in January 2004 in a friendly match against Greece and won the 50th time she played in the match against Northern Ireland in May 2009.
During the WPS offseason in 2011, Dieke joined Cypriot club, Apollon Limassol on loan from Boston Breakers. Despite missing almost the entire 2013 Damallsvenskan season through injury, Dieke was given a new contract by Vittsjö ahead of 2014.
