Ieroklis Stoltidis (Greek: Ierokles Stoltides ; born on February 2, 1975) is also called “Iero”, is a Greek former professional footballer who was an attacking midfielder. He was an ardent and determined anchorman who had tremendous physical and mental strength.
In the 2005-06 campaign, he was a part of the first eleven for the Greek El Clasico, Panathinaikos against Olympiakos in the 2005-06 season, and then scored in Olympiakos winning 2-0. On the 23rd of November, 2005, in the Champions League fixture against Rosenborg He made a reckless attack on his opponent, 18-year-old Per Ciljan Skjelbred. He broke two bones on the teen’s lower leg, just above the ankle. Stoltidis ended his season with a second Olympiakos double and the prize for Greek Player of the Year.
In 2010, he signed with Kerkyra on a one-year contract where he would finish his career a year later in 2011.
The crucial goals he scored against the eventual champions Panathinaikos and AEK Athens in 2003-04 have endeared him to the fans. Stoltidis also enjoyed the first time he played UEFA Champions League football, scoring twice in just five games. He was a regular in Dusan Bajevic’s team during 2004-05, he appeared in 25 league games and scored two goals. He was in the 560 minutes during the Champions League campaign and scored the winner in the home match against the eventual winners Liverpool F.C.. In the same year he also was awarded the Alpha Ethniki as well as the Greek Cup with Olympiakos.

Stoltidis began his career with Pontioi Kozanis FC in the fourth division before he joined Iraklis FC, where he was for eleven years. Stoltidis began his Alpha Ethniki debut for the Thessaloniki-based club in December 1992, but was not part of the team until the 1995-96 season. In the next season, he took part in UEFA Cup football for the first time. Stoltidis made an impact during 2002-03, and was named the player of the club for the season. In June, after playing 234 games in the league, he left to join Olympiacos CFP, signing a two-year contract. He was hired to take over the role of Ze Elias Olympiacos.
Stoltidis was part of the Greece team that was that was defeated in the 1998 UEFA European Under-21 Championship final by Spain. In November 1999 when he made his debut in the senior national team . Later, the team went on to represent Greece in the Athens Olympics in 2004. Stoltidis also continued his streak of Champions League success, this time helping Olympiakos finish second and gaining entry into the Round of 16. Finishing the group stages with 3 goals and 2 assists, Stoltidis pulled off some of the most memorable performances of his career, notably the 1–3 and 3–0 victories against Werder Bremen where Stoltidis found the back of the net three times.
