Hubert Aiwanger is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on January 26, 1971 in Ergoldsbach, Germany. Hubert Aiwanger, born 26 January 1971, is a German politician and party chief of the Free Voters (German pronunciation: Freie Wahler). He is currently the Deputy Premier Minister of Bavaria and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs Regional Development and Energy. He is the leader of both the Federal Association of Free Voters and the Bavarian State Association of Free and Independent Voters factions. He also serves as the Chairman of the Federal Free Voters Party and Free Voters of Bavaria Party. Since 2008, he has been the Party leader of Bavaria’s Free Voters of Bavaria’s Parliamentary faction.
His greatest success was due to the 2008 elections in which he and the Free Voters received 10.8% of votes, surpassing the threshold set by the Bavarian parliament.
At the executive elections of the Federal Association in Berlin on March 27, 2010 Aiwanger was elected federal chairman of the Free Voters. On February 20, 2010, Hubert Aiwanger was elected to the office of the new Federal Chairman of the Federal Association of Free Voters in Münster when on October 19, 2013, he was confirmed with 88 percent of the vote. The newly founded federal association replaced the previously existing federal voter group, which was required to participate in the European elections.
In January and February of 2012, Aiwanger was criticised for tweeting several jokes and as a result of criticism from within his Party, he deleted his Twitter account on February 9, 2012.

Aiwanger joined Free Voters just before 2002’s council elections. Aiwanger ran for the Rottenburg an der Laaber city council seat, but lost narrowly. Shortly thereafter, he rose up the party ranks and joined the Rottenburg regional council. He was elected to the Landshut county council in 2004 and served as the district chairman for a short time.
After the resignation of his predecessor, he was elected as the State Chairman of Free Voters of Bavaria. He won 340 votes to 322. He was reelected in October 2014 with 92% of votes.
Aiwanger failed to reach his goal of leading the Free Voters to the European Parliament in 2009. However, following the successful lawsuits against the percentage hurdle, in May 2014 the Free Voters for the first time sent a MP to the EU Parliament, Ulrike Müller.

Under Aiwanger’s leadership, the Free Voters have also successfully abolished taxes regarding road improvement contributions (German: Straßenausbaubeiträge, shortened to Strab). This tax was paid for by homeowners on the street in which road improvement was occurring in order to finance the road maintenance. After the 1st of January, 2018, this tax was no longer levied due to the Free Voter’s efforts.
