She wanted to improve upon the silver medal that she had won in Stadskanaal in 2012. Arnold received word that her F46 event was cancelled due to lack of competitors just a few weeks before the event. The 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships, Doha was her next opportunity to win a major international medal. She threw 40.53 meters to retain her gold medal.

Hollie Beth Arnold MBE, born 26 June 1994 in Grimsby, is a British parasports athlete who competes in the category F46 javelin. She was born in Grimsby but now lives in Loughborough and trains there. Arnold did not finish on the podium at the 2008 Summer Paralympics Beijing and 2012 Summer Paralympics London. However, she won the gold medal in F46 javelin at the Rio 2016 Summer Paralympics. She became the second Paralympian after Sophie Hahn in 2018, holding the Paralympic and World, European, and Commonwealth gold medals in the F46 javelin.

At the age of 11 she won her first disability sport event, winning seven gold medals in a variety of events. At 14 years old, she was chosen to represent Great Britain in 2008 at the Summer Paralympic Games Beijing. She placed 11th in F42-46 javelin for women. She was the youngest member in 2008 Great Britain team. She won her first medals at the 2009 IWAS World Junior Championships, Switzerland. In the F46 discus she took silver and in the F46 javelin she took bronze. Arnold did not compete in discus at any championships in 2009, instead focusing solely on the javelin. She improved her javelin medal the following year when she won silver at the 2010 IWAS World Junior Championship. Then she took gold at Dubai’s 2011 Championship. Arnold represented Britain at the IPC Athletics World Championships, New Zealand in 2011. She finished third in F46 javelin and took the bronze medal. She won the IPC Championships silver medal in 2012. She was the world number 2 in F46 javelin, with a throw of 35.88m at the Welsh Championships in Cardiff in June 2012. Arnold’s personal record was raised to 36.27m at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Arnold participated in the IPC Athletics World Championships, Lyon on 22 July. Arnold won gold with a winning throw at 37.45m, which was her personal best.

She was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to field athletics.
